Do you think Sen. Barack Obama will be the first Democrat presidential candidate to carry Virginia since Pres. Lyndon Johnson did in 1964?

If it were held today I would say yes. As the people on the right get increasingly shrill and creative with facts (or just add them where nothing exists) it could be interesting. Personally, I think they are shooting themselves in the foot. The people who are going to be moved by these veiled racist attacks with a sprinkling of religious paranoia and innuendo were going to vote for McCain anyway. The undecided in the middle may now move over to our side and many of his more moderate supporters may very well just stay home.
I cant believe Obama is winning in Virginia. Of course polls are not always accurate- but this is absurd and SCARY! It saddens my heart in Richmond to see so many relatively smart , intelligent people with Obama signs in their yard. The man is DANGEROUS!
Of course anyone who doesnt like Obama is immediately labeled a "racist". That is the sad world we live in today. He ain't even really black, but thats besides the point. He clearly wants global world domination.
I can see right through him. Virginians, wake up! This is Virginia, not the People's Republic of Massatuchettes!
You need to learn how to spell Before you post - Virginia may be Blue for a good long while.
Careful with the polls. RCP's current numbers are offset by two polls that gave Obama double digit leads. Both of those polls surveyed 10-15% more Ds than Rs, and while the R brand is bad, the best advantage Ds have ever been able to claim is 3-5%.
I don't think it will go for Obama. It will be close, and a large part of that will be thanks to Warner beating Gilmore by upwards of 20 points, but I think you're seeing the Wilder Effect and in the end McCain will squeak it out here in VA.
I think Bookstore Piet makes a great point. It really doesn't help them much to preach to the choir. Go Obama! I'll definitely be voting for him. I don't know about the rest of Virginia, but I can only hope... and, boy, am I hoping.
